About High School Pharmacy Camp Heading link

The UIC College of Pharmacy High School Pharmacy camp (HSPC) is a half day, introductory experience designed to expose high school students to the field of pharmacy — this year HSPC will take place in person! HSPC began in 2016 and has helped participants decide if pharmacy is right for them (https://pharmacyforme.org/).  Past participants have included individuals from Illinois as well as out-of-state high school students interested in the profession.  We welcome a diverse group of individuals to apply to attend. With over 80 career paths in the field of pharmacy, High School Pharmacy Camp gives participants an opportunity to learn about traditional roles for pharmacists as well as novel opportunities you can pursue with a pharmacy degree!

Supporter Track

The UIC College of Pharmacy at Rockford also offers a half day experience for parents, guardians, and anyone who may be a future pharmacy student supporter. To apply for the Supporter Track, please ask your student to select “Yes” on the Supporter Track question on their High School Pharmacy Camp application.

Cost to Attend

The cost to attend this institute is $25, which includes fees associated with lab activities and a t-shirt.

Because of the generous support of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) with support from the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Foundation, selected students from Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties will be charged $10 to attend the High School Pharmacy Camp.

Applying for the Program

Applicants must be a current high school student. Previous experience in the field of pharmacy is not required or expected.

Applicants will be notified regarding their status in the program within 2 weeks after application beginning in November. A non-refundable payment of $25 is due two weeks after acceptance into the program in order to reserve your seat in the High School Pharmacy Camp.
